Vacation!

Clint and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary by taking a vacation to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for one week. I can't believe that it has been 5 years already. We are very blessed and happy. Playa Del Carmen is just south of Cancun. We relaxed by the beach and the pool, shopped in town, played beach volleyball and did some site-seeing. It was a blast!
In the airport, on our way!

The grounds of our hotel were beautiful!

We loved being on the beach. We did a lot of sun bathing, which now I am a pealy mess. Clint of course is not pealing at all, he just looks like one of the locals.
This is the oldest catholic church in Mexico. It was almost creepy inside.

A Cenote (an underground fresh water source that the ancient Mayans used to get water from). I guess there are thousands of them in the area. The long rope looking things are actually a tree's roots coming through a hole in the top all the way down to the water source. It was cool and refreshing water. There were also bats flying all around in the cave. YIKES!

We went to Chichen Itza. An ancient Mayan city were there are hundreds of ruins. It was amazing and I guess is one of the wonders of the world now. They no longer let people climb on the ruins anymore which was a bumber but it was still incredible to see. These columns were all over the city. They are suppose to be for each soldier.
The observatory where they studied the stars.

This is the most popular pyramid, Kukulakan, or something like that. This is the one that everyone goes to see on the spring and fall equinox because of the way they built it, it looks like a snake is descending down the side. CRAZY!! It was huge.

The snakes head.

Us standing at the bottom.

Back at the hotel, someone made a crocodile.

I played beach volleyball like every day we were there. Clint showed off his mad skill a time or two also. It was so much fun!!
We had a ton of fun and hopefully you all can come with us next time we go.
While we were gone, Ashtynn got sick. Ashtynn has never been sick, at all, so you can imagine how worried we were when we found out. She had diarrhea and was throwing up for almost the entire time we were gone. Luckily she has wonderful grandparents that really must love her because they endured it. She is feeling much better now. Clint is glad we were gone so he didn't have to clean it up. Thank you so much everyone who helped to take such good care of her and didn't mind that she got you sick and puked on you and pooped on you. We OWE you!!
